Points to remember
While obtaining Community / OBC / EWS certificates,
Ensure that
1. Your name is correctly written as per 10th or 12th Standard Marks Sheet or Certificate
2. The name of the caste, its spelling, Serial number is correctly filled as listed in the Central List.
3. In case, if the Official Seal is in the Official Language of the State other than English or Hindi, ensure that you have an acknowledgement in the Certificate from the concern authority that “The Official Seal will be only in …(Mention the language)…. language.
4. You have to obtain OBC / EWS certificate for the current financial year.
-
- For instance, if the exam notification is published in Feb 2023 for an exam to be held in May 2023, the certificate MUST have been issued on/after 01.04.2022 (after the completion of FY 2021-22).
- However, it should not have been issued later than the closing date of application.
- Remember that OBC / EWS certificate is valid for only one year.
