Gorky’s IAS Academy was founded by Mr. Arun Shanker Gorky to provide best-in-class impactful

Our priority is to bolster the “repeaters” in Civil Services Exam. Our mentorship is designed
not only to fine tune their interpersonal skills but also to help them overcome the
socio-psychological barriers towards clocking impactful performance and acing the exams.

Our Founder & Director
Mr. ARUN SHANKER GORKY
An Engineer by graduation completed Masters in Historical Studies and got qualified for the
Civil Services Personality Test (UPSC) thrice (in 2008, 2010, & 2012). He aced the National
Eligibility Test in History as a topper. With 17 years of experience in mentoring, his 18000+
lecture-hours encompass History, Science, International Relations, and Security Issues. His
spectrum of interest is more towards comparisons and connections involving India vis-à-vis the
World.
As an established professional mentor, he excels in Competency Assessment and Personalised
Solutions. His core strength include exam relevant Question Paper Setting (MCQs & Descriptive).
In the process, he had contributed 22,250+ MCQs and 2,500+ Descriptive questions for the past 15
years; UPSC questions reflections stand testimony to his exam acumen.
He guides aspirants with his wide knowledge and clear view on approaching exams at all levels –
Prelims, Mains and Personality Test for UPSC and TNPSC Exams.
He is known of his unique approach in taking the aspirants through the interesting pages of
history in UPSC GS History and UPSC History Optional Courses.
He had been affiliated with many institutions Pan India as a Resource Person, notably,

Mr. ARUN SHANKER GORKY
Mr. Gorky is a highly sought-after faculty by UPSC Aspirants. He had qualified for the UPSC interview thrice. As a Master of Arts in History, he enthrals his students with his unique style of delivery. Though he is an expert in Historical Studies, over his 17 years' experience in up-skilling aspirants, he had groomed himself to be a versatile UPSC academician. He trains UPSC aspirants on History, International Relations, Economy and Polity. He has trained over 1000 aspirants so far and 100+ of them are currently serving our county in various central services viz. IAS, IPS, IFS, IFoS, etc.. With his penchant for mentoring and coaching Civil Service Aspirants and for bolstering the repeaters, he founded Gorky's IAS Academy.
Mr. KANNAN S
A Writer and a Geography trainer. Also specialized in Environment, Reasoning and Quantitative Ability over his 15 years of experience. A calm and composed personality who generates great energy in his Training Room with his in-depth mastery over the subject. He has got two master’s degree – one in Geography, one in Mathematics. A strong logical thinker, with excellent creativity, he satiates his creative appetite through Writing and logical appetite through Training UPSC Aspirants. He provides the much-needed psychological support to the aspirants through counselling. His first book, ‘Kizhavi’, a collection of his short stories, was published in Jan 2022. It has been received well by critics.
